Keeping Busy While at Home
The Covid-19 Virus is spreading through the nations and most of us are now in self isolation at home trying to figure out how to pass the time. To help you get through these tough times, we’ve created a list of crafty and non crafty things to keep you and your family entertained!
The Obvious Choices
These are things you’re already doing or could be doing

• Playing games – computer games, console games, board games, online role playing with friends
• Watching TV – live tv, steaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, Hulu, Crunchyroll, YouTube etc.
• Keeping fit at home – Yoga, Pilates, Tabata, P90X, Insanity, etc
• Taking short walks – depending on where you live
• Cooking at home – great time to try out some new recipes
• Reading a book or doing some writing
• Taking some online courses – Lynda.com has some great courses so why not learn or bush up a skill. It’s free if you have library card.
• Playing music – get out that guitar or open that piano. Learn a new song, make your own, or if you’re a beginner, learn how to play.
• Do some gardening – if you have a garden plot it’s time to get out that green thumb and start growing your own food.
• Spring cleaning – always wanted to tidy up your home? Now’s your chance.
The Crafty Choices
Stay creative with these crafty options to do at home

• If you have a Cricut then now is the time to be crafting. During this time of self isolation they’ve made thousands of projects free to use on the Cricut Design Space. Examples of projects include iron on shirt designs, coasters, cards, masks, bags, jewelry, and more. If you don’t have a Cricut, you can still buy one HERE!
• Learn a new craft with Creativebug, an online crafting class site. Learn how to draw, sew, knit, paint, there are thousands of options to choose from. You can start a free trial and they’re currently offering a 2 month for $5 dollars subscription.
• Make your own colouring book – test out your drawing skills or print off some pictures from the internet for some colouring time.
• Don’t have any tools at home? Learn how to fold origami with any scrap paper you have. There are many useful little things you can fold out of paper such as boxes, tissue holder, envelopes, napkin rings, and more. Click here for an orgami site with video instructions and printable templates!
